Her work is playful and often full of humor. She moves from a place of subtext and improvisation and mines the surface for what lies beneath. She makes room for exploration and experimentation and allows chance and happy accident to determine the flow and direction of a piece of work. This makes for both unsettling and rewarding times in the studio as she's often surprised to discover her destination.
Since she moved to Santa Fe, her work has been featured several times in the Pasatiempo, the weekly arts magazine published by the Santa Fe New Mexican. She is a member of the Santa Fe Society of Artists and the Eldorado Arts and Crafts Association. From 2005 to 2008, she was an artist-partner at Artistas de Santa Fe Gallery and her work has been showcased in Santa Fe, Chicago, Seattle, and Little Rock.

Tulip is the studio dog and muse at Cate's workspace and in her heart. She will more than likely greet you at the studio door.
